Las Vegas is very market oriented. When the hotel fills up, as in a large convention, the rates go up. Sometimes you can find rates as low as $79 during an off week, and the following week they will be over $500 for a the same room for one night. It is always a good idea to book early and to shop around a bit to find reasonable rates. Small conventions such as the National Association of Pizzeria Operators Las Vegas Pizza convention may fill up one hotel causing the rates to rise and the next one will be nearly empty!

Large conventions will also have special transportation arrangements. When there is a big one such as the NAB held at the convention center, special buses are put on to take convention goers to and from the hotels. You can also take advantage of the new monorail that runs from many of the hotels to the convention center. Above all don't forget to have fun as well in Las Vegas while you attend the convention.
