Walking is safe and it is good exercise, however always have water with you, especially in the hot summer months. Dehydration sets in very rapidly leaving people feeling sick to their stomachs and sometimes dizzy. Always carry water with you. Las Vegas has also recently added the new monorail system which runs from the convention hotel to the southern hotels on the strip.
