If you are looking for the Las Vegas convention center hotel, there are not any hotels that are called the convention center hotels. Often a hotel will be designated the Las Vegas convention center hotel because it is host to a convention that is being held in the hotel in their own convention facilities. The actual convention center in Las Vegas is a huge independent convention facility that is sometimes referred to as the LVCVC and is connected to the Venetian Hotel and across the street from the Las Vegas Hilton convention center.
Convention attendees should pre-book their hotel rooms well in advance especially for the larger conventions. Rooms fill up quickly for the larger conventions even in Las Vegas with over 100,000 pus rooms available. If you are attending one of the smaller conventions held in a single hotel and want to stay in the same Las Vegas convention center hotel to reduce some of the walking, we suggest that you also book early to obtain a reasonable room rate and obtain a room. Many people just do not realize how big the hotels and the convention space is and think it will be just a short walk to get to their meeting from a hotel across the street.

We once stayed at the Montecarlo Hotel which is just across the street from the MGM Grand Hotel. It took over 30 minutes to walk from our hotel room to get to the meeting that we were attending and this is just across the street. The combination of the size of these hotels and the location of the meetings have a huge impact on how far you need to walk. Taking a cab is really not an option in these cases either since most of the walking is inside the Las Vegas convention center hotels and convention areas!
If walking is not an issue for you, staying at the hotel next door may be the most economical thing to do. Often one hotel will be busy and increase their room rates. Hotels close by may not be hosting a conference that week and may offer competitively low rates. Check the rates at a few Las Vegas convention center hotels and compare prices before you commit to staying at one of the higher priced hotels.
