A Look at Vegas Package Deals
By Morgan Hamilton
Have you seen Slasher, the HBO movie that tells the story of a group of car salesmen who continuously sell used cars in a special $88 trick, the lucky persons get a used car for $88. The salesman compares the technique to the sale of manure. He says you can sell a lump of manure by first announcing the price to be one million dollars. Everyday, while passing the way, people would see the million dollar announcement board. Then on a fine morning the price is slashed to just one dollar and people rush in to buy the useless stuff named manure – after all they are spending only one dollar!

I

remember the storyline whenever I hear things like Vegas Package deals, offering stay and dine coupons at too good to believe prices. We take our stand not to jump in to take the bite of a Vegas package deal. We have reservations about the legitimacy of such offers. We carefully budget our money. Even it is a couple of hundred bucks that go to a fraudulent Vegas package deal, it will hurt us badly for a long time.

I am awfully sorry that I can’t recall the name of the company that was the host of my girlfriend and me on our visit on a Vegas package deal. In fact I have researched well, made repeated calls, asked more than enough questions, to make sure we will not be tricked of our money, before we decided to give it a try. The kind of reception we got was a delightful surprise.

We could spend two nights in a cozy hotel, entry for different shows, an Italian dinner, and a breakfast (both from the hotel). To our utter joy, we found we have a swimming pool all for ourselves. I think it was 9/11 aftereffects that kept people from making travels and also kept them from vacationing. Anyway it was a nice Vegas package deal.

The staff was also very accommodating and friendly and was very forgiving when we told them that we were not into any conferences or investments. However with Vegas package deals, you are risking more than a dollar it is not going to be an inexpensive lesson, if you are tricked of your hard earned money.
